Hi and welcome to my site. if you're on here then chances are that you're a tank buff like me. So I hope you enjoy reading about my progress as much as I enjoy building this project and updating my site.

I choose to build a King Tiger because of my fascination with WWII Armor. I have always been in to R/C vehicles whether it was land, sea or air. I have never owned a tank before because of the high prices that the large scaled tanks go for. I was also not about to settle for a small 1/16 scale tank because they aren't as fun as their big scale versions.

Realizing that I have all the tools and know how when it comes to mechanical engineering, I decided that it would be great to build my own 1/4 scale King Tiger. Of course I am by no means a rivet counter (dont care to get the detail 100% to scale) however, I will be close and at least it will resemble a King Tiger.

The original design was electric, powered by two wheelchair motors and a 24vdc battery system. After putting some serious thought in to this I decided that a tank that you have to charge every hour of run time was not going to be as fun as a gasoline powered version. So I decided to take on the challenge of making it a gas powered model.

Click above on the different time lines to see the progress. There is no ETA on this as I work on it whenever I get the chance to. So far I am hoping for summer of 2011 but that could change.
